How to troubleshoot the HP Printer error 59?

What is the procedure to solve HP Printer error 59?

To start the process, you will need to reseat the ITB. Next, you will need to check out the connection to primary transfer-roller-disengagement (SR9 at connector J19) to the DC controller PCA (connector J128).

HP Printer error 59To remove the error you will need to remove the ITB completely from the unit and after that test it manually the ITB gear and flag. Next, rotate the gear and check for the flag actuates when the white gear turns on. After that replace the ITB flag if it is broken or damaged or if the flag does not move.

After you notice the ITB gear and flag not working properly then you will have to test the Sensor SR9 by using the MANUAL SENSOR TEST. To perform the process, you will have to remove the ITB if its re-installed and then locate Sensor SR9 inside the ITB cavity.

In the control panel, you will have to press the HOME button and after that press the down arrow to highlight the DIAGNOSTICS.

When you notice the ITB gear and flag are working properly, you will need to test Sensor SR9 by using up the MANUAL SENSOR TEST and then manually Test the SR9 flag. To do the process, you will need to remove the ITB if it has been re-installed and then locate Sensor SR9 inside the ITB cavity.

After that, you will need to press the HOME button and then press down the arrow to highlight the DIAGNOSTICS menu and then press OK. After that select MANUAL SENSOR TEST and then press OK.

Press up and release the SR9 flag to actuate the sensor from inside the ITB cavity. After that, press and release the flag and then check the control panel display for sensor response (under K) and confirm that the sensor toggle between 0 and 1 (0 is the normal state).  If any case the value does not toggle between 0 and 1, then replace the HP Printer error 59sensor (WG8-5696-000CN).

If the Sensor S9 works properly then perform a fuser motor (M2) and to that, you will have to remove the fuser. You will need to defeat the right door safety switch (upper left area) and by inserting a stiff or folded piece of paper you will need to defeat the right door logic switch (right side below fuser) through masking tape to hold the switch down.

After that press, the HOME button and press down the arrow highlight the DIAGNOSTICS menu and then press OK in the control panel. Next, select COMPONENT TEST and then press OK, click in the FUSER MOTOR and after that press OK. While you are doing the test always notice the fuser motor. If you notice that the fuser motor fails then replace the fuser motor (M2).

When the fuser motor works properly then you can perform another test of ITB Contact/Alienation Test.  Take out the right door with safety switch (upper left area) and through inserting a stiff/folded piece of paper, take out the right door switch logic switch by using masking tape to hold the switch down.

In the control panel, press the HOME button and then press down the arrow to highlight the DIAGNOSTICS menu and then press OK. After that, select the COMPONENT TEST and then press OK, then click ITB Contact/Alienation Test and then press OK.

At last, make sure you check the connections again to the primary transfer disengagement sensor J19 and to the HP Printer error 59connector J128 on the DC controller PCA before reinstalling the ITB.  If you notice the error still remains in the printer then replace the DC controller.
